VPAM Foundation, VPAM, and ELAC Art Department have been working together to create pathways for underrepresented students to attain rewarding careers in museums. We’ve developed three unique opportunities at ELAC that enable students to gain the networks, specialized knowledge, and hands-on experiences that make them competitive candidates and potential future leaders in the museum field:

The Washington D.C. Internship Program - a 5-week, full-time museum internship at the Smithsonian Institution and the National Gallery of Art

The Museum Studies Internship Program - a 10-week, part-time museum internship at a local institution like the Getty, LA Plaza de Cultura y Artes, or VPAM.

The Museum Studies Certificate Program - a 7-course certificate program offered at ELAC for aspiring museum professionals — one of the only museum studies certificate programs at a community college in the nation

These transformative programs are growing.

Your donations will help us provide local internships and additional learning opportunities for 3x the number of students than last spring. Support also helps us increase the size and amount of stipends so that more ELAC students can afford to take part in an internship.
