Join us for “Museum Studies Meetup with Olivia Leiter - A Conversation about Museum Unions” on Thursday, October 20, 2022 at 6:00PM - 7:00PM via Zoom. As a leader of the Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles (MOCA) Union, Olivia will share reflections about her organizing experiences and engage participants in a discussion about labor organizing in museums today.

Prior to the event, participants are invited to read an online journal article titled “Notes on Unions and Cultural Work” by Olivia Leiter (2021) and discuss it during the event.
About the Guest Speaker
Olivia Leiter is an educator and artist. Olivia works across disciplines including video, performance, writing, and installation. She has exhibited work at Human Resources, Echo Park Film Center, e-flux, The California Museum of Photography and The Fulcrum Press, among others. She currently works as an Educator at MOCA and is a member of the organizing committee of the MOCA Union.
The Vincent Price Art Museum proudly presents Museum Studies Meetups, a monthly meetup series dedicated to connecting current and prospective students enrolled in the Museum Studies Certificate Program at East Los Angeles College to current and relevant topics in the museum field.
Museum Studies Meetups are organized by the Vincent Price Art Museum in collaboration with the Art Department and Museum Studies Certificate Program at East Los Angeles College.
