About the space

The Vincent Price Art Museum (VPAM) Learning Lab and Lounge is an onsite study, research, and learning environment available to East Los Angeles College (ELAC) and Los Angeles Community College District (LACCD) students to support their studies, museum experience, and overall curiosity for learning.

Located on ELAC’s Monterey Park campus, the Learning Lab and Lounge is equipped with a specialty collection of art and art history books and state-of-the-art technology to serve currently enrolled college students with their coursework, especially in the visual arts, art history, and museum studies.

The non-circulating collection of over 500 books in the Learning Lab and Lounge is a selection of art history textbooks, artist biographies, exhibition catalogs, and art books, including a limited edition letterpress art book set. Students may search and browse the VPAM Learning Lab and Lounge Online Catalog.

Currently enrolled students may reserve the use of the following shared technology equipment: an iMac desktop computer workstation, large touchscreen monitor for presentations, flatbed scanner, and flatbed scanner. All equipment is available on a first come, first serve basis and must be reserved with a VPAM staff member.

VPAM Learning Lab and Lounge Visitor Information

Admission: Free and open to all LACCD and ELAC students, faculty, and staff. Students must present their LACCD student ID upon check-in at the VPAM front desk, located near the 1st floor main entrance, prior to their visit.
Location: Vincent Price Art Museum (S1 building), 3rd floor, Room 319. For directions and parking information, please refer to the VPAM visitor information.
Open Hours: Tuesdays – Fridays 2:00pm – 4:00pm. Closed on federal holidays. Please note that open hours are subject to change.
