Join us for Sonic Cultural Circuits of the Americas, a free film and music program presented as part of the Sonic Terrains Closing Program series. The event will provide an opportunity to engage with and celebrate the work of artists and collectives who have highlighted the role of music in shaping Latinx, Caribbean, and Latin American culture.

MUSIC PROGRAM - MACHO STEREO LISTENING PARTY

Join Marcus Kuiland-Nazario in the Museum Lobby as he plays records from his MACHO STEREO installation currently part of the Sonic Terrains exhibition. Inspired by the personal stories that each vinyl record holds, the artist invites participants to bring their own records with special significance to them. Records will be listened to and discussed as a community. The program will begin with introductory remarks by Pilar Tompkins Rivas.


Produced in conjunction with the exhibition Sonic Terrains in Latinx Art, on view through July 30, 2022 at the Vincent Price Art Museum at East Los Angeles College. The exhibition is curated by Javier Arellano Vences, Pilar Tompkins Rivas, and Joseph Daniel Valencia.
