New Voices: The 2024 ELAC Juried Student Art Exhibition

Exhibition Dates: April 22, 2025 – June 14, 2025
OPENING RECEPTION: Saturday, April 19, 2025, 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM

For more than sixty years, the student art exhibition at East Los Angeles College has showcased exceptional artworks produced on campus throughout the academic year. In 2022, the exhibition expanded to invite students from all nine campuses of the Los Angeles Community College District (LACCD) including East Los Angeles College, Los Angeles City College, Los Angeles Harbor College, Los Angeles Mission College, Los Angeles Pierce College, Los Angeles Southwest College, Los Angeles Trade–Technical College, Los Angeles Valley College, and West Los Angeles College.

Now held biannually, this district-wide exhibition showcases student artworks produced in diverse media across numerous instructional departments. In 2025, New Voices: The 2025 District Wide Student Art Biennial will spotlight works created by students between spring 2023–fall 2024 semesters.

This exhibition is organized by the Vincent Price Art Museum at East Los Angeles College and is juried by a committee of arts professionals.


About the Jurors

Portrait photograph of Adam F Scott

Adam F. Scott is a nationally and internationally recognized contemporary artist. Adam received his BFA in Painting at California State University Long Beach and his MFA Drawing and Painting at The School Of The Art Institute Of Chicago. He has exhibited extensively in solo and group exhibitions across the United States and abroad. Selected exhibitions include: The Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago, IL; The Yokohama Museum Of Art, Yokohama, Japan; The Prague Biennale, The National Museum of Prague, CZ; DoArt Gallery, Seoul, Korea; and more.

He is now Associate Professor of Art, in the Arts, Media, Performance Department at Los Angeles Mission College and is presently a co-curator of its AMP Gallery.

Jill Olguin Smith is an artist and educator. A native of San Pedro, California she received her BFA from Loyola Marymount College in Studio Art/Art History and a BFA from Art Center College of Design in Photography. Her photography clients include MOCA, TBWA CHIAT/DAY, Esquire, Metropolis and Detour magazine. Her work has been featured at the Palos Verdes Art Center, The Loft Gallery, and LaBand Art Gallery.

She is currently an Instructor in the Media Arts department of East Los Angeles College.
