Threading Our Stories: Mending Through Community Quilting

Reproductive Justice: History and Activism Today

Saturday, December 10, 2022, 1:00PM – 3:00PM

Join us to create a new collaborative quilt at VPAM — inspired by the community quilts in the Phung Huynh: Sobrevivir exhibition — that expresses how reproductive freedoms influence the daily fabric of our lives. In this sewing circle, participants will create their own quilt squares for a new commmunity quilt, which will temporarily be on view at VPAM's in-gallery Community Quilt Lab.

  • Free and open to the public.
  • Art materials will be provided.
  • No prior sewing experience is necessary.
  • Participants are encouraged to bring their own materials to personalize their quilt square.
  • Adults and youth (ages 12+) with adult supervision are welcome to participate.

Face masks are highly encouraged for this event. Thank you for protecting our community!
Additionally, ELAC welcomes persons with disabilities to participate in all of its programs. For accommodations, please contact Steven Wong at wongsy@elac.edu or call (323) 265-8841.
