Egyptian Art in Our World Today

May 24, 2018 - July 7, 2018

Over the course of two months, the pre-kindergarten students from the Child Development Center at East Los Angeles College visited the Vincent Price Art Museum for class tours of Passing Through the Underworld: Egyptian Art from the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA). In response, the children created group and individual artworks exploring connections between ancient Egyptian art and culture and concepts used in the classroom such as prints, symbols, mathematics, patterns, and costumes. This exhibition showcases the children’s paintings and sculptures, and includes documentation of their process.
