The Smithsonian Undergraduate Internship Program at East Los Angeles College & the Vincent Price Art Museum

The Smithsonian Undergraduate Internship Program is an intensive museum studies program organized by the Vincent Price Art Museum in collaboration with East Los Angeles College (ELAC), the Smithsonian Office of Fellowships and Internships (OFI), and the Smithsonian Latino Center (SLC).


The five-week internship program provides East Los Angeles College students with the opportunity to engage in museum studies in their hometown of Los Angeles and with the nation's premier museum complex in Washington D.C.


Program components:

  • Independent study course taken during Winter Intersession term
  • One-week museum studies workshop with the Vincent Price Art Museum (Los Angeles, CA)
  • Four-week museum studies internship with the Smithsonian Institution (Washington D.C.)

  • Program features:

  • Behind-the-scenes tours in Los Angeles and Washington D.C.
  • Exposure to a range of museum careers and academic programs
  • Workshops and networking events with museum professionals
